FUE, or Follicular Unit Extraction, is a minimally invasive technique where single hair follicles are individually extracted and transplanted into the eyebrow area. Unlike tattooing or microblading, this procedure uses living hair follicles, creating real, growing hair with natural texture and movement. It is ideal for patients with thinning brows, over-plucking damage, scarring, or naturally sparse density.

Downtime is typically minimal. Mild redness, swelling or bruising around the eyes may occur during the first 3-5 days after the procedure. Small scabs form around each transplanted graft and usually resolve within 7 to 10 days. Most patients resume normal daily activities within 24 to 48 hours, avoiding strenuous exercise for about one week.

The transplanted follicles are genetically programmed to continue growing. Once healed, the results are permanent. Because the donor hair originates from the scalp, the brows will continue to grow and require periodic trimming.

The transplanted hairs typically shed within the first few weeks, which is a normal part of the growth cycle. New growth begins around 3 to 4 months after the procedure. Visible improvement develops progressively, with full results typically seen between 9 and 12 months. Results are long lasting and permanent.

Preparation includes avoiding blood-thinning medications or supplements if medically appropriate, stopping smoking prior to surgery, and refraining from alcohol several days before the procedure.
